Can I have people's opinion on what is their most comfy body protector with necessary safety regs ? Has anyone got recreate or horze mosaic one ? Are these more comfortable in your opinion than airowear am looking for a new one for when my youngster starts jumping safe but comfortable. any opinion good or bad appriciated have an old one and although complies to safety it's really not comfy thanks all in advance

I'm interested in the answer to that. I saw a lot of good reviews of the Racesafe body protector and made a special trip to Rideaway to get one. The assistant announced that they were only for jockeys and didn't offer enough protection, and promptly marched me over to the Airowear Outlynes. Since my mother was kindly funding it for my Birthday and would never question a 'knowledgeable' member of staff, that was that.

Now it's too big for me, and I'd really REALLY like something I can wear with a show jacket, so I'm back to considering the Racesafe :)

i have just ordered a racesafe from them direct, and am waiting delivery, had to have an extra extra short  the guy at the stand was very helpful, but they do two different types of BP, one i belive is for Jockeys only, the other with the corrugated squares and laces down the side are as far as im aware suitable for all riding activities, i must say it did feel very comfortable when i tried it on, i don't do BP's as a rule, but i have my youngster to break in later this year and i don't bounce as well now im in my 40's

Who from, from Rideaway or the company who make them? Was just searching for Racesafe but not finiding anything, then wondered if you meant Rideaway...

Will maybe dig the tapemeasure out and see about ordering online instead of through annoying staff ;)

Thanks floxie I was wondering that an. Hope the two designs is correct joyous bebecause that would be handy if they were comfy but offered good protection

Yeah there are 2 different types, the RS 2010 is the one which you can wear for normal riding, cross country etc as it is beta level 3 (the purple label) and this is the one most people have and seem very good! http://www.hows-racesafe.co.uk/index.php/en/rs-2010/rs-2010

Then there is the jockey vest which has low protection and is beta level 1 http://www.hows-racesafe.co.uk/index.php/en/2012-11-30-10-03-18

Hope this helps :)

Ah, brill, thanks all, understand a bit better now! And found them both on the Rideaway site too (eventually). Gets to saving!

I have the champion one and absolulty love it!
Hate BP as a rule so dreaded having to have one for XC. I couldnt get on with the racesafe, and found the champion the best fit and actually once im on my horse i forget i have it on! Also brought the matching shoulder protectors for bigger XC, these are not so comfortable! :)

I've got an airowear and really like it, it moulds to your body shape so they get more and more comfy as you wear them! :)

Which is a good job, really, cos they're rock solid when they're cold :D

Don't really have any complaints about mine really, but it is pretty bulky and can't imagine squashing it over a show jacket. Now I need to replace it I'd like something a bit less blocky.

See my previous post re BP's - get yourself out to somewhere who stocks a decent range & make sure it is BETA Level 3 - Purple label. The permutations of back length, chest & waist size runs into 100's & the only way to get exactly what you need is to keep trying them on!

I just invested in a Kan Teq and I really like it! Went xc in it on Monday and forgot I was wearing it it was so comfy!
Wendy at Kan is really helpful too.
There's a few threads about them on here if you do a search.
:-)

I have a racesafe BETA level 3, I find it really comfortable!! I have fallen off once and i would say it did its job! Well worth the money :)
