Can anyone recommend a decent body protector?
So far have been recommended one's by racesafe, kanteq, and the point 2 (which I can't afford and I think most wear them over a body protector!!)
Sorry if this topic has been done loads already!

Awesome thanks for replying, I'm going to try before I buy, I'm quite curvy so wasn't sure if some fit better! They all seem to feel like bullet proof vests, had a woof one years ago but that would probably only fit on one arm now and think my mum chucked it out when I went to uni-cheers mum!!

THe outlyne molds really wells (I'm on the curvy side) and actually moves which is awesome! But just try load on and see which one your comfortable in and make sure you get it fitted properly otherwise they can do more harm than good

Have just bought myself a racesafe. I already have an Airowear Zippa, but can't breathe in it!! Also, it won't fit under my hunting jacket.

yet another vote for Racesafe here.I am also rather well built up top and found it to be the only one that is comfy without being restricting in any way.

I used to have one of the old fashion bullet proof types which I hated so I really wasn't looking forward to buying a new one last year. I lot of expense for something uncomfortable... or so I thought! I tried a few and my favourites were Racesafe and Champion Cobra. I found i was in between sizes with the Cobra but the Racesafe really moulds to ur shape and now I quite like it. I dont use it as much as I should but I am now happy to grab it quick if I think I need it.

Ooo I like this thread - my OH is buying me a new bodyprotector for xmas, and I've been looking at the racesafe ones. The only thing that put me off is they are so much thinner than the others, and I keep thinking "how can that help". What are they like the fall off in?

If you have the money I think the kanteq may be worth the investment - I tried this on at Bramham horse trials this year and, being that I have boobs I did find it fit well and was comfortable and having the stretch at the sides is great. I didn't splash out though as happy with my airowear (think that's what it is) in my colours that I've had a for a while. Think I'd consider the kanteq next though (sadly I didn't win one in the sellers raffle!!)

Thanks everyone, I agree with you zoeshiloh, the racesafe although really popular seem really thin to me, but the multipads seem to allow for a lot of movement.
I'm tempted by the kanteq as I'm quite top heavy too so that sounds good!
Can I just ask the forum one more question about body protectors-I'm told they protect mainly from puncture wounds, but do they protect from fractures also?
Whatever one I get I'm going to get shoulder pads as I'm told this can reduce the chances of fracuring your clavicle!
