After a number of years of owning my body protector I think I need to get a new one for the XC/ Eventing season. I like the racesafe type (zip up at the front). I also want to have shoulders pad that can be removed. What is the best ones and where is the best place to buy them?

Look at these - pm me if you want any more help -

I have a Rodney Powell and a Racesafe....both highly recommended. Most good local tack shops have them and I recommend you go somewhere you can try them on rather than buying on line.

i have had quite a few, and the only one i feel that i have not got a piece of carboard on the back and front of me is with a racesafe on, as it has lots of different pieces on it...

I have racesafe rs 2000 with shoulders- but money i ever spent.

I even went home in it one day and didnt remeber i had it on i drove home and walked in the fround door and my husabnd looked at me like i was an allien hehe.

very comfy and very protective!

I've just invested in a Rodney Powell body protector. Friends advised me to put it in the airing cupboard for an hour before wearing it around the house. It's supposed to help it mould to your body, however, I'm not convinced. I find it terribly uncomfortable and I'm worried that it will interfere with my riding!

I'm working at home tomorrow which is the perfect opportunity to give it another go.

I tried my show jacket over the top and it didn't fit! Is it acceptable to wear the body protector over a jacket for SJ?
