Bodyguard Jacket

Try googling "mountain horse bodyguard jacket" & lots of info, reviews etc available. It's not a substitute for normal body protector it seems - but if you do go for one, they're much cheaper from other shops!

I have one and love it. I ride a spooky horse and there is always a chance of an unplanned exit. Luckily I haven't tested it out much.
I wear it for schooling and hacking and its a decent comfortable jacket but has the benefit of added protection. However I upgrade to a body protector for jumping as again my horse has a dirty stop but it would give a bit of protection compared to the amount of people who don't use body protector.

Thanks, will think about it some more, i know they are not as good as a proper body protector but seeing as i don't wear one, i thought it has to be better than nothing.

I have one. The zip broke after a few months with little wear. i had bought on the internet and could get no sense from Mountain Horse. So i rode in it with th zip unfastened. I was very glad i had it on when i ws bucked off ontot the road. I'm sure it saved me from serious injury to my hip/back.
I've often said, that as MH make a brilliant hi-viz jacket, I don't understand why they don combine the 2.

Now I've found a different jacket which does combine the protection and hi-viz and it's more comfortable - and cheaper!

What one have you found?

And yes overpriced but if it works could be a godsend for me.

I like the look of those Joy riderz jackets, would be good for the summer, not that I had many days were the body guard jacker was to hot this year :(

Go and have a look on ebay at motorcycle jackets

most of these textile jackets have shoulder, elbow and back protection for a fraction of the price of the Bodyguard jacket - and you can get much nicer colours if you pay a little bit more! Just check that they have full armour as some of them only have shoulder and elbow padding.

I think that the Joyriderz started with motor cycle jackets. I find they look better than the bodyguard, along with the Hi-Viz, they are more fitted, which looks better and they are very adjustable.
