Has anyone ever experienced extreme bogey blowing after their horse has had hay ? just recently 'horse' has had a problem choking after eating some hay. She rubs her nose all up the walls then starts coughing and shaking her head they she blows out her nose and litres of gunk projectiles out her nose, often on to me  it stops after about 10 minutes but I don't know if it's a serious problem, YO said it's nothing serious but I'm not sure. Would you call the vet? Does anyone know why this is happening or experienced it before? Thanks for reading !

I think you should be soaking her hay if you are not currently doing so. I would also get the vet to take a look if it continues, this could be a COPD related illness and should be sorted STRAIGHT AWAY before becoming much more serious and possibly terminal.

Thanks for your help! Much appreciated. I will def be ringing the vets tomorrow. I just wanted to check it wasnt anything common and I wasn't going to look like a fool wasting the vets time:o
