There’s not much to say other than how much this horse gives 100%. I was just thinking out of 20 odd events I’ve had one bad day-where we had a fall (both of us) in the sj. He’s never thrown the trowel in, never backed off, never done anything other than take me around with a big smile and a brilliant attitude even as a youngster. That said, I can’t SJ or XC this horse at 80 in a snaffle anymore ?
So I’m tempted to late enter Calmsden BE next weekend but for the 90. However last time I attempted a 90 was at this very venue on Bog he and I got caught up in a pole SJ and both fell. It was pretty horrific.. but I’ve been around the 90 before there and love it as a course. I’ve also not really been training at 90 at home. BUT he really does need bigger fences as he’s pretty.. arrogant and I’m unconvinced I’ll notice the difference? I used to do lots of 90s with previous horse despite training lower, I find it easier at comps some how.. thoughts?? Just do it!?
So 31.8 dressage and a double clear with time faults as ground was on firmer side. A shame as he would have had a decent placing but it’s still awesome to be able to do this on him at all and looking after those legs and hooves is key!
Excuse my fugly jumping expressions ?
