Firstly, times are up for bold heath!

My SJ time is the same as my mum's dressage time, so that'll be an interesting SJ round for me & pepper, since he & my mum's chestnut mare HATE being seperated! (sp?!)
Is the SJ definitely on a surface?
Fingers crossed that it is!

I'm in section C, number 122. As far as I know the show jumping is on a surface.

did everyone walk the course today? Number 9 on the intro course OMG!!!!!! scary and wide, its the 1st double! its bloody wide!!! also theres a corner aarrrgghh! this is my 1st british event and now im scared! can anyone give me any tips on how to jump the corner and the wide jump please.
 
omg diane! its quite straight forward! just what i said to you before are the scary ones! are you travelling in box or trailer? also what are your times?!

i'm travelling in a silver & black iveco lorry.

with regards to jumping a corner, i come in a nice forward bouncy canter - certainly not a gallop & when/if you walk it again look for something on the horizon to aim towards (i.e. bisect the angle of the corner, get your line right & find something to aim for)
i find trees rather useful for that!
but never try and aim for a car, or something that may move cause otherwise you're stuffed!!
 
do you mean the groundline is at an angle to the jump?

i think the best thing to do is walk the line you want to jump & look at the groundline/pole in relation to your line..
if you get what i mean

i don't think many rules (if any) about the colour of your hat in the XC, it's just the safety standards they're interested in

remember to take your hat with you to the steward's tent when you get your number to get a sticker out on it!

i dont think you are allowed fixed peak hats for xc...but maybe thats just riding club???
