I'll keep it brief as have only just got home and am going away untill Wednesday and need to pack!
Dressage: was running 30mins late
so was worried that Shrimp would over cook which i dont think he did. Got 39.5 which I think was a little harsh and I dont agree with some of the judges coments especially where he tripped on the half 10m circles and he panicked slightly, judge wrote 'loss of balance, broke into canter' which he did not
SJ: after our not so successful day on wednesday i was hoping he would improve which he did and jumped a fab clear!
Was really pleased and he made nothing of it. Theres some really good pics too so will post links when I get back
XC: was very nervous about this as last time he came to a grinding halt because of the ground. Anyway I need not have worried! He was a star in my eyes and he flew out of the start box when i eventually got him in (he was pratting around like an idiot and feeling rather well and the commentator was making fun of us
)
We had one unfortunate stop the first part of the coffin as we got a rubbish stride and there was a bit of miscomunication but came round again and jumped it fine. We had a couple of scary moments e.g. at a rather large hedge where we went through it rather than over it and the mahoosive trakaner (sp? ) where it was a bit sticky and I nearly came off. Also lost my stirrup jumping the bank complex and jumped the stile hedge after it Mary King style
Took the long route at the water as it was a bit spooky and seeing as we had already had a stop, I played it safe and I think made the right decision. Apart from that he jumped really well and restored my confidence seeing as we havnt been to an event since Llanymynech (dont count PC area as we didnt even make it into the dressage arena) and first completed one since May! So am happy to be home safe and sound.
We're off to Solihull next weekend and then Henbury for the final JRN trial, have to do dressage in a 20x60
Its so good to be back out competiting
Oh briefly met fatarse on my way to the XC after realising that someone was calling my name and not just a random person! (sorry i was slightly distracted, was a bit worried about the xc!)
