Interesting variation on the Kimblewick, can someone please explain what the small rings by the mouthpiece are for? Thankyou :)

Maybe for a curb strap? That's a guess ;) I've never seen this bit before.

I'd never heard of them until this morning...as I'm having a lazy day (cold out there and jobs are done) I've been browsing...looks like a cross between a kind of hanging cheek/filet baucher and a wilkie with myler type hooks to me, but I am a self confessed bit numpty so I know nada.

Hmmm curb strap...I wondered that too

Only guessing as i haven't seen one in action but hooks for the reins, so it acts as a normal kimblewick with slots would. Bomber bits started life as mainly polo/polocross equipment, but seem to now do a wider range as well.

I'm sure I'm being a massive thicko but surely putting reins on the hooks and they'd come off once your horse shook its head  .....................
