Spent the weekend looking for a pony for my daughter. We are after a 13.2hh ish genuine quiet pony to hack out with my mare. First pony we saw looked half dead so I guess in it's current state it would be classed as bomb proof.
Second pony we visited which was also supposedly bombproof was owned by the timewaster sellers from hell. When we arrived there they wouldn't answer their mob phone. We eventually found their house and they wouldn't answer the door. We went round the back of the house and found them in the yard. We were met by some grumpy woman saying the pony was being stupid and not fit to ride. When I asked what she meant by this she said it was going mad with the tractor on their yard and she didn't want us riding it and getting hurt. Now I had phoned and spoken to the owner a few times before we went to view and was assured that the pony was bombproof, ideal for a child and excellent in all traffic. Needless to say we turned and left promptly.
As you can imagine I'm feeling pretty disheartened at the mo
and whilst reflecting on the weekends events and many hours spent scanning the classifieds I have come to the conclusion that far too many equines are classed as bombproof or stunning.
So HHO's if there is anyone in W Yorkshire who knows of a suitable pony preferably to loan/loan with view to buy, please PM me. I have 33years of horse owning under my belt, have my own place and have lots of commitment and love to give. Not bothered about age or looks but it will need to be able to live out all year with shelter and a rug.
