Is he not being turned out?

I think looking at the reasons as to why he's apparently changed character so much would be good.

If he isn't going out, couldnt you consider moving him somewhere whereby he can? Keeping horses in a lot is all well and good (i do it myself), but they need a looooooot of work to make up for it; more so if they're clever or sharp to begin with.

If you're absolutly set on selling him, personally i'd find a centre that offers schooling and sales service - put him on full livery there and let them deal with him. Chances are he'll need some degree of training or work to get him back to the point of being sellable.

But did i read correctly, that you're meant to be starting this journey next summer? If so its not leaving you a whole lot of time to source a new horse, get it fit and get to know it before embarking on this.

lemonade - nice to hear from you again

But sorry to hear about you having trouble selling Banjo...

I know everyone else has said it **Baaa** but I think Project Horses or a Criollo specialist sounds best. So fingers crossed you hear from the criollo farm.

Also what you doing with him at the mo? Could you turn him away for a bit and move him a bit further away from you?

I wouldn't risk riding him again - sounds like you have lost confidence with him and it is probably better to move onto something you feel safe on (I am changing horses too for a similar reason).

Good Luck whatever you decide. xx

There are some reasonable dealers who would school your horse and then sell him on for you but this will cost you money. As someone else mentioned project horses is probably your best bet as your horse is a potentially lethal problem horse at the moment, probably because he is not getting nearly enough turnout! If you sell Banjo claiming he is something he is not you could face legal action and you would be knowingly putting other people at risk just to make as much money as possible on the horse you have ruined and you would be know better than all the dodgy dealers you are so keen to avoid.
I'm sorry if this sounds overly harsh, I just have very strong feelings on this subject.
