Bonding tips

I do a lot of groundwork with mine on the long rein, so she gets used to my voice, as well as all the usual stuff like grooming them whilst keeping up and endless supply of chatter again so she gets used to my voice and me within her space. Something else I have done with my new girl is just sat in her box with a mag, again gets her used to me being round her and also she has to come to me if she wants to investigate which she invariably does because she is very nosy to find out the latest news in H&H!!!!!

Hope all goes well with your new horse :)

I was gunna suggest reading in the stall as well, or in the field. Also a REALLY valuable thing is to take them out to grass on a lead line, this is so great for building abond, because they associate you with nice things, as well as the things they maybe don't like (being groomed, ridden etc)

I also REALLY reccomend the book "100 ways to perfect and equine partnership" by Susan McBane, it's a big book and I picked it up for about £3 at "The Works" were you get great books from at cheap prices, well worth a read!

Ha ha! I thought I recognised the lead line to grass tip, I've just got that book from Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/0715324853/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new
