Yes it looks like Tia has bone cancer and probably a tumour in her lung too. The vet says in bone cancer it often starts in the lung and the bone is a secondary cancer.

She has had morphine and a steroid injection which reduces any swelling and is at home still asleep from the anaesthetic.

My husband is trying to fly home tomorrow and will arrive early hours of Friday morning, so she will be put to sleep at home sometime on Friday.

Thank you to everyones' kind thoughts on both my previous cancer post and my pts post x

I am so very sorry to hear this. Not much I can say that will help except perhaps that I am thinking of you and wishing Tia a speedy journey out of pain.

So sorry to read this. Our elderly springer was pts last December with the same thing. She woke up one morning and literally couldnt put her weight on one leg. The vet suggested that at her age (13) and with the general prognosis for bone cancer being poor, the kindest thing to do was PTS. She had one last day at home, on meds, being pampered and fed treats and is now buried at home close to her sister. I completely understand your wish to give your husband the chance to say goodbye properly and hope Tia passes peacefully with her family next to her x

Sorry to hear this...a heartbreaking decision but the right one with that diagnosis.

My thoughts are with you x

Real thank you to everybody, it somehow does make a difference to read your replies.

She has made it into the lounge tonight so we are all in here together ( me & dogs ) so it is just like normal for her. I am desperately trying not to think of how much time she has left but it's on my mind constantly.

She really isn't very well and I'm shocked at how quickly she has gone downhill but it just reinforces the fact we have made the right decision.
