Bone chips and foals/yearlings

Hi all
I am obviously consulting with vets but just looking for experiences - as y’all have ‘been there’

I have a yearling and have identified some swelling in both hocks - it is highly likely these are bone chips

If this is bone chips - what are your experiences of when to remove them.
I’m researching and it seems better to remove early and reduce damage -
Although vets seem to state wait and see what happens - my experience is that swelling is very rarely nothing!

Views/experience re recovery, successful surgery and when to do it?

My experience of this (as in OCD) is to remove sooner than later to try to avoid juvenile arthritis.

I think you need to be guided by X-rays and a good ortho vet, but fat joints with chips IME it’s a removal job
