My horse went lame at the end of October and was diagnosed with laminitis and so was put on bute, boxed and starved for a week with a bit of walking around the yard. A week later found her lying in her stable with her front leg in the air. Anyway to cut a long story short, after four weeks of nerve blocks x-rays and scans with no diagnosis she was sent to Newmarket and came back her normal self with confirmation (after an MRI and ditigal x-rays) that she has a bone cyst growing in a hairline fracture under her fetlock joint which was apparently caused by a trumatic incident. Have been told to box rest her and have to take her back to Newmarket next month for another x-ray to assess the bone cyst. Has anyone ever heard of this condition or have any advice?
