Hi I have a six year old mare that was diagnosed with Bone Spavin in February and was treated with Danilon, Steriod injections and Tildren. She showed a slight improvement for about a month but then we were back to square one again. Back up to the vets for nerve blocks and she was diagnosed with high suspensory ligament as well as Bone Spavin. I was told the operation had a 60 - 70 percent success rate but as she has Bone Spavin it would be less. I decided it wasn't fair to put my mare through a operation so she is on field rest at the moment until next year. The Vet thought that rest will help but it is quite likely to return when she returns to work. I have used the Vet for years with other horses and he a orthopaedic specialist. Has anyone else have a horse with both these conditions and as I would like to hear your experiences.
Thank you.
