Bone Spavin

Mine has been given synequin by the vet - expensive and she is still on the loading dose so haven't seen a difference just yet

I used boswellia and tumeric as anti-inflammatories, then pure glucosamine and MSM with rosehips for joint support

Having said that Pinto wasn't very unsound, as it was a flare (new osteogenesis in a slightly different place) of an older spavin caused by over jumping.

I also used magnetic hock boots for an hour or so every day whilst he was being rested, and then for 30 minutes before and 1 hour after riding.

We didn't go competing or anything, we mainly just hacked with a bit of schooling.

has it helped

Just over 2 weeks but the loading dose is 35 days I think so not expecting to see any difference until she has finished this tbh. Believe it can only be purchaswed from a vets but was the one that was recommended most by my vet and my farrier .

Sue, yes it helped.

It takes about 2 weeks for the boswellia to become fully effective, though I noticed an improvement in soundness after about 2 days.

Once the spavin had fused I was able to taper the boswellia and tumeric, and just kept maintenance with the glucosamine and MSM.

I should mention that I bought separate supplements, so I could tailor how much of each Pinto was getting, rather than buying a ready mixed one.
