has anyone ever seen a bone spur on the out side of a horses lower jaw before, the size is small but noticeable. She got kicked once out in the field and the lump started to swell so the vet took x-rays and comfirmed with the dentist it was a small bone spur, and nothing to worry about. I did ask if it could be removed as it does interfear with the doing up of her noseband on the briddle and the answer was "just leave it alone as her jaw would need to be broken to remove it"... but i'm worried it may get bigger in size or she may knock it!!! any info or help would be gr8

my boy has one aswell it was noted in his vetting the vet said he had seen a few it's just extra cartlidge, they can be removed but they can grow back it doens't bother him so i leave well alone

Thanks for that, it does'nt bother me, but she has had it banged and it swelled quite big, and she is always banging/chatching the lump on her stable door, it does'nt hurt her (well thats what the vet says) but i bet it does when she catches it...
