Are there such a thing? She loves the labs bones that have been stripped so there is nothing on them but are there anything like it safe for pups? She also likes the cows hooves, she is always supervised with anything like that. I bought some pigs ears as I read on the Internet that they were OK, then I checked again before gIvinghoe one to her and it said don't give them! I need something she can get her teeth into, tasty and smelly!!

I assume the deer legs are the same as the pet shop sells? Will need some horse food between Xmas and New year so will pick a couple up, probably a lot more expensive though!

I am delighted! Thank you so much for posting-really good value, happy boys have had a braid already, even Goose with his teeny head managed! I might save the deer legs for Christmas Day. I didn’t order loads, but I think I will next time. I can’t believe the legs were only 99p!D80C1A53-6D53-4519-B29F-E47079F5B0B6.jpeg

Have the deer legs had anything done to them?
Deer legs do have small bones in them so be careful, the hoof capsulsecan detach too and be a problem for some dogs.
I give them to the dogs we have and get them for free most keepers throw them away, the dogs have them for a few hrs to strip the meat and skin off them then they are removed and thrown away

‘Simply air dried’. My lot have raw bones so I’m hoping they’ll cope ok. They’ll be supervised, of course.

I’m so jealous of you lot who casually talk about the keepers just chucking away stuff, this would be my ideal situation.

If you're in an area with Roe, Muntjac or CWD just try and find a local stalker and ask for them. They are consider waste anyway.

Or join the FB group Giving Up The Game and ask on there

We have muntjac and I think the boys sprang a roe yesterday, it was a lot bigger than the usual muntjac. It’s Wildlife trust run where we go, I have no idea if they manage the deer, I doubt it, never seen anyone with a gun and there aren’t loads. I’ve joined that group, thanks for the idea.

Game meat for dogs is a better one to join if you are wanting meat for dogs, giving up the game is a fantastic group but is very busy and meat for dogs is not what they do its meat for people and they really do pull out all the stops to get people eating game and help people who are struggling to get food in the table. It's not fair to use the group group dog meat.

I’ll delete my request, I had no idea that it was that sort of group! ‘Game meat for dogs’ sounds more the thing.

I've seen meat/carcass remains offered on giving up the game specifically for dogs (i.e. bits not really suitable for human consumption) so it definitely serves multiple purposes. In fact their own rules specifically state they welcome Raw feeders!

They do welcome raw feeders your right (I had missed that), you can't put posts up asking for raw food for pets, they do however invite you to use the search bar to find some in your area.

From 8 weeks my dogs have had hooves, buffalo horns, antlers chicken wings raw, pigs ears and pizzle sticks. I just supervise them.

Are pigs ears OK for pups? One website said yes, so I bought some, then another website said no!!

I bulk buy gnaw bones, all sorts, from pig ears, pig snouts, chicken feet, bull penis (I never buy the already cut up in smaller lengths version, with a sharp pair of garden shears/loppers you can fix it yourself), twisted thingies, to God knows what pressed together thingies. Added to that, there's also a few reindeer antlers, and buffalo horns in my dog's gnaw bone basket, even though they're usually too expensive for me to bulk buy.

Oh, and they also get dried fish, dentastix, and vegetarian gnaw bones, but they never last long enough to make it to the gnaw bone basket.

There's things that was considered safe as gnaw bones when I got my first dog back in 1990, that is now considered not good, and I presume there's things that's considered safe now, that might be considered unsafe at some point later in the future.
So from when they're puppies, I just try to give my dogs an as wide variety of gnaw bones as a I can afford, and hope that they thereby won't get too much of the same bad stuff.
