Has anyone encountered this diagnosis?

My friend's beautiful 7 year old Gelderlander has just been diagnosed with this condition.

He is currently on box rest, with small walks out for inhand grazing and waiting to go in for, what I presume is, Steroid Injections

Sorry I do not know all the details, as friend is on holiday and only got the results from Liphook whilst she was away ... they say this is so rare, they are not sure what to do, I believe

If anyone has any help/advise/first hand knowledge of this condition and prognosis, it would be greatly appreciated.

My friend has asked me to post this btw.

Thanks

I've had experience of wear and tear to the collateral ligament but never a boney cyst I'm afraid. From what I know the area the collateral ligament lies in is pretty inoperable I'm afraid. I would imagine it all comes down to treating the boney cyst but collateral ligaments are very delicate and once damage has occurred it's pretty difficult to treat.
The only hope I can give your friend is that Liphook wrote Jesper off and he did return to work for a year after his diagnosis and only retired due to suspensory problems. Good luck to your friend and sorry not to have more information.

Thank you for your response. I found some other old posts on this/similar subject and it did appear that time can sort out this problem, to the degree that the horse can come back to work
