Boney....

Oh silly me!!!

For a 3 year old he does look quite boney though.

He is certainly lacking a lot of top line, which would be mostly young age and the way they are ridden in western ie long and flat, rather than round. I would be interested to see him without a saddle, as this may be hiding a lot of ribbiness

are we looking atthe same horse?..he is clearly young, but i would not say he looks particularly 'boney', or 'sad', he has the look of quite a laid back saddle horse to me, would not be concerned about welfare etc. No offence, but not all horses have to be gleaming and fed organic super nuts to be perfectly happy and healthy. think you might be being a bit over the top...sorry

Yes he does look happy and chilled out which is how they should be really. a little more muscle would help, which will come with age.

Boney? I'm not so sure. To me he looks sleepy and half-drowned in the biggest saddle known to mankind. I'd like to see him without tack (and to know why he's being shown in Western tack in his ad). Other than that he looks quite nice, I think. Like a frothy latté.

I think his colouring doesn't help. Photos can often be deceptive. If he's having agrowth spurt it might explain his slightly "lanky youth" appearance.

I wouldn't say he is boney, could do with a bit more muscle, but if he is young, that will come with time.
