Having seen several posts and threads regarding Bonfire night. Could you offer some advice. I live in the middle of nowhere with the nearest village about 3 miles away. The farm is split and we live at one end in a cottage and the farmhouse at the other end is rented out to a family (who lived in a town before). Last year, my horse fractured his hip bone and came back to a couple of weeks before Bonfire night. On the night, I kept going over to check him. He could hear them in the distance but seemed fairly chilled. At about 9.30pm, there was allmighty bang and our next door neighbours had sent off fireworks. Apparently, they had been to the public display but they hadn't used the ones that they had taken. So, decided to let them off in their backcourt yard. Straight behind was a shed full for fertisliers, 60 sheep in the field next door. Not to menition by horse next door to the shed. They have a huge front grass garden that would be perfect to use with no risks.
I complained to the owner of the farmhouse and buildings (who is a relative of mine) who rang the neighbours. The following night, the neighbour came round with a bouquet of flowers and a bottle of wine to say sorry.
Now for my question, do you think that it would be ok for me to go round and ask if they are having fireworks and when so I can be prepared to check horse ect? I don't want to cause a neighbour rift but just have my horse's best interests at heart? Advice please (sorry for the long story)
