Given 3 weeks ago we thought he may have done a suspensory and I was panicking about rehab and recovery this is the best present ever! He obviously wanted me to remember the important things in life (I was upset over losing my job and the death of my gran).

On taking him in for scans he trotted up sound so their advice was to take him home, work him lightly and see what happens. He has been sound every day since, despite several mad sessions in his paddock and me having to hack him longer than planned just to keep a lid on his energy (first ride started off vertical and then bucking across the road having been off work for a week!)

So very happy to tinsel up today!

(Note, high viz is usually plastered all over us, we don't usually go out like this)

Thanks gang! I'm so happy he seems okay, I have no idea what he did to be so lame but I was distraught, on just a weeks rest he was wild! But he's had some mad sessions in the paddock, his first canter since vets yesterday and today he was absolutely pinging when I schooled him. I let him have a canter in the school and he bowled around ecstatically for several laps telling me he could do way much more thanks very much!

They are a gorgeous bunch, the haffy is 29 and loving life and the Connie is transitioning to barefoot after some tendon troubles. Luckily he was in a sensible mood yesterday as the haffy and mine are so buzzy they wind each other right up!

Given bonkers black pony is a couple of people's favorite I will have to make sure we get up to some mischief in 2015 so we have some stuff to tell you all about!

So pleased for you! sounds like a bit scary first ride though! my boy has been off work for around 11 weeks now, hoping to start riding again in the next couple of weeks! I hope my experience is a little easier than yours :) Looks like you had a lovely ride.
