Hi
Ive only just joined and would like peoples thoughts on whether you think Im bonkers.
Ive got 2 horses a Heinz 57 oldy and a 9 year old section D.
The problem is I wont mind having another horse. The only reason why Im thinking of this is because Ive had to retire the oldy due to a shoulder/back injury and my cob flatly refuses to load on a trailer.
And the problem is I like going out on Fun rides and to shows.
I am not on a yard and mine are currently in a field 3.5 acres with a field shelter.
Have I lost the polt?
If I did get another one it would be another section D.
Thanks

If I were in your situation I would rather spend the time and £ another horse would take on sorting out the loading prob with your sec D. Maybe getting a recommendation for someone locally to help with ground work and checking that they isn't anything rattly / scary in the trailer that puts him off.

Hello and welcome :D

No I dont think your bonkers :)
I have 4 horses, so I'm verging on bonkers, and one is a Welsh Section D filly - by far my favourite breed.

Just make sure the new one loads lol.
Have you seen any you like? x

That was the plan. No I havent seen anything yet, I woudnt mind one about 15hh.

As for my current cob I had an Ifor Classic that he wont go on, then bought a Equi-trek and he still will not load tried every trick in the book and he still wont load.
Ive had him for 6 years and when I first had him he loaded no probs, but it was an old heavy rice.
Ive been thinking about getting an intelligent horsemanship person out to him but Im unsure.

Any ideas for getting him loading?
Should I try a another different box?
Thanks
