As the title really, anyone got any books / guides they swear by as their 'go to' if need to change up your horses exercise routine? I need to step up my boys fitness plan and get him using his muscles more.

I remember that in one of Ginny Leng's books there was a lot of information about fitness work, and in particular interval training.

It might have been "Training the Event Horse" - it looks like you can buy 2nd hand paperback copies cheaply so it might be worth a try?

Not specifically about fitness but I recently bought "55 corrective exercises" and have been raving about it to everyone. Lots in there you could use to help I'm sure.

The one I recommended is by the same author!

I hadn't realised she is also behind 101 Dressage Exercises, which is one of my most used books! I'll have to look at the one you recommended; I'm sure it's great.

OP, just remembered... Carl Hester's books also have a lot of useful exercises arranged by dressage level, so you can see how they build on each other. They could be useful for building strength gradually, although one of the more specific fitness books might be more what you're after.

Thanks so much guys 😀💖 ordered Carl Hesters basic dressage book, going to order the 101 or 55 I think, xx
