Booking lorry MOTs Warning

I've just booked my lorry MOT at the Bristol test station and the earliest they could do it was end of April

That is a 12 week wait.

Luckily after a bit of begging I've got it booked in 17th March. So if you need to plate your lorry in the next 3-4 months I would phone up and book it in now.

There is nearly always a 12 week wait near us.

I had a 6 month wait for mine. Fortunately the mechanic that looks after the lorry works near my OH so let him know and he booked it in for me. Had to be booked in July for a January test!

Diesel Dog - if you are in Bath, you should try the MOT centre in Calne - it may be less busy, and they are very good! The Williams F1 team have all their lorries tested there!

Yes always book ours well in advance, if it runs out and you use it ,getting caught on these new cameras would cost a fortune

The worse I ever had before was 6 weeks. So I thought 2 months notice I'll be fine....

Is the Calne one open again? I like taking mine to Bristol though as it always passes and I am getting supersitious that if I take it to another one it will fail.

It's booked now for mid march thanks. I wanted to do it in April so that I got the extra month and also I wouldn't be tempted to go jumping too soon. I won't tax it until April then I can't go anywhere.

I found that out the hard way last year. Had to wait 8 weeks. Will be booking it in early this year.

I used to go to Exeter or Plymouth, now I go to South Molton which has a much shorter list.. I would ring round some slightly more distant centres, I bet you get in quicker.

We go to Calne too, not much of a wait and very helpful - although I've never had it pass 1st time - but thats the same with everything I do, so don't think it's them!!!
