Is it just me that is getting incredibly peed off with all the fees they like to add on to your booking?!

I've just entered 2 classes SJ, and have paid a £3 booking fee, £5 first aid (OK I begrudge this a little less) and £1.50 for the Horse Monkey Fee. That's £9.50 on top of my entries!

Does anyone know if most venues are insistent on you entering via these systems or has anyone come across venues which still accept entries directly?

If they use those sites then on the whole I think that is the only way they do entries. What annoys me is if you enter one class and then enter another class later, some charge the admin again - don't always know straight off if want to enter more than one class.

It chuffs me off when i want to enter 3 or 4 different things (when money in the bank) run by same club. 9an event and 3 training things for example)
Each one has to be done separately thus incurring admin fee each time, so it soon adds up.

One RC uses this for everything, the other doesn't.

Horse Monkey is more expensive than Equo or My Riding Life as you have a booking fee as well as site fee, but the 1st aid seems to be the same across the board

Horse Monkey I haven’t noticed an additional booking fee but I haven’t used it since they upgraded. Mostly use Equo or Riding Life. I appreciate there are unavoidable costs though and £1.50 is us paying the credit card fee. Equo makes their money by charging organiser a % of each fee. I did stop using it as made me cross as I run expensive lessons with top trainers so was paying more even though it made life easy for booking people in.
