books on horse care, riding etc ??

Im a newie, so hello ! Hope everyone is having a good day.

Im wanting to get back into riding - used to ride in my teens then stopped, so its been about 10 yrs since I last had a horse. I was wondering if anyone could recommend any books on horse care, riding etc to help me refresh myself! I will also be doing some riding lessons soon

Second that - I have my very early edition from when I joined pony club in 1969 and a 2005(ish) copy from when daughter joined. Still sensible relevant advice.

Oh and hello and welcome - I'm another returner to riding but I was out for 25 years!
 
hi there! thanks for that, both of you! I actually had a look on amazon and ebay, found some copies, so I might get one. Does it matter which edition? I can see 9th & 11th edition for sale.

Cant wait to get my own horse - Im actually returning to NZ later this year, where Im originally from, so once Im settled I will start lessons again, yay !
 
I guess the later the edition the more uptodate the info should be. Not that much has changed from the info in the earlier edition but it has been added to. Any recent one will be a help - after all horses have survived given "Pony Club" care since the first edition was published! (Oh God I'm a dinosaur!)
