The vaccinations should only apply to qualifiers, not general RC things.
Plus a long as you've had the first 2 done, then you can compete ( not within 7 days of a booster).

We check all ours going to Area comps, but not for local shows and training.

In your case the horse is actually covered, just does not comply with official comp rules.

Thanks for clarifying, that's helpful. 😊

I got in all of a panic over missing the cat's booster last year and the small animal vet thought I was bonkers - until I explained that horses are literally to the day 🙄
I had same conversation with vet, if cats and dogs are a bit more relaxed, why are horses so rigid?

Just a thought, but does your vet operate out of a surgery? If so, could you do a "drive by" for the 2nd aid 3rd jabs to save on the call-out charges? My last vet didn't even need me to unload my horse, but she did know that he was seen sensible and not needle shy! 😊

In which case I would suggest that the organisers were the ones in the wrong for not allowing for the leap year, as the BE rule is 12 calendar months not 365 days!
Errors in the original course intervals get picked up surprisingly frequently.

No idea about showing rules!

I don't know. The people involved complained loudly to the event organisers and also to the vet practice for the vaccinating vet not picking up that there was an issue with competing.

They didn't get anywhere with either though and redid the course.

Join the club OP, I’ve managed for the first time ever to get all three of mine wrong this year!! 🤦‍♀️

luckily my vet is sympathetic so did the boosters and we don’t compete anyway, but no way I could re-start three when they were close enough to not have compromised immunity. Lesson learnt- they’re firmly marked on next years calendar with the correct date this time!!

Yes they do! I think I’ll have to drive by for them 😂

It's for competitions, if it's just for protection against illness, a day wouldn't matter.

Are there rules for cats and dogs who compete e.g. Crufts.

Nope, no vaccination rules for Crufts or indeed any KC show
