Pip is getting some new boots for christmas, I would like to get him some nice ones, I feel he deserves something quite 'posh', but have no idea what type would be best. They would mainly be for driving marathons. That is usually about 21 KM, mostly fast trot and the ground is often hard

. In the last 8Km you have the obstcles, and that is alot of hard turns aswell as water. What type of boots would you advise? Other people seem to have the neoprene ones that go under the fetlock, some people have no boots. TBH people seem to have almost anything. Last season he had brushing boots and over reach boots. I'm not changing the overreaches as they are nice, and wouldn't want to do a marathon with out them just incase we lost a shoe.

So what type of boots would you say, and do you have a make that you like?

I was thinking the same for spooks as his brushing boots are getting a bit 'tired' - his would be for endurance where he would be going minimum of 32km, So i want something that is comfortable for him for long periods - given him support going over rough/testing terrain - so i think we have similar requirements!!

Sorry for jumping in on post, but would be interested to hear the reccomendations - I already have a set of wrap arouns 'sport medicine' style boots but am not sure about using them for such long distance - i just get the impression they would rub around back of the fetlock / heel, where the strap goes under

We use New Equine Wear brushing boots. They are very lightwieght and dead easy to keep clean, just hose them off. They are pretty goo, the hinds come up quite big though.
