My horse suffered an injury to his superficial flexor tendon late last summer. He had stem cell treatment on it and we are now looking to start canter work.
Before the injury he was alwas ridden in boots or bandages, usually the sport medecine boots that go under the fetlock. I now know that using boots heats up tendons and can cause more injury. I would like to keep using boots atleast in front as he is quite narrow and has a massive movment!
My question is should I now use no boots, my old boots or invest in some 'airflow' ones?
He is 19 and although he will now only hack , show and do some dressage i would like so get a few more years out of the old boy!! All ideas welcome!!
