i posted this before ages ago and I just can't remember what folk said. I am looking for long boots and have trouble getting them to fit. I think i get replies saying that high riders are generous fitting and i just wanted to make sure before I humiliate myself in a shop again!

Any one out there suffer the same fate and can give me some pointers? i can't actually compete or do my exams at the moment cos I can't get bloody boots to fit and i can't afford to get made to measure.

Any ideas? thanks

I think it is about time we got onto the manufacturers to get their act together and make boots to fit. I got a lovely pair off my hubby for Christmas but they had to go back and now I am looking at short boots again!

Buy the ones you like and that fit your foot and are the right length. Then take them to a cobblers and for about £30 you can have elastic inserts added to the zips

I have a real problem with boots fitting and can't find any on the market that fit as my calfs are over 17.5 wide! so I have a pair of black leather gaiters and like ben and jerrys said I take them and have elastic inserts put in and they look great I can even win in them!!!!!!!!!

Good luck I do sympathise

I've got a pair of Sarm Hippiques - not cheap, but sooooooo worth it.

Also got a pair of nearly new Regent Windsor, size 7 wide fit if anyone is interested. <cheeky grin>

Equitector Classic....they fit my 18" calf's no problem. They already have the elastic insert in them so saves you a trip to the cobblers....
