bioflow brushing boots hind and open fronted tendons front for SJ
bioflow brushing boots and fetlock boots for hacking
xc boots and over reacches for xc
stable bandages in stable
im paranoid lol!!!

I don't have any boots at all

Nothing. A few rolls of vet wrap and a set of stable bandages and that is it.

Sold all my lovely eskadrons when I left, along with everything else. A bit dumb perhaps but not needed now.
None of mine do enough to warrant protection, aren't shod and don't bang themselves either.

Nothing for hacking, flatwork schooling, jumping on the arena, cantering and fast work.
Front tendon boots for hunting, schooling over hurdles and fences.
Front tendon and back hightop brushing boots for racing.

I think lots of people use far too many boots and bandages on their horses tbh.

nothing on my connemara ever, he doesnt need them and doesnt tollerate them.

nothing on the 3 oldies.
and brushing boots on the youngster when hacking, juming or going XC but apart.

My gelding's wearing brushing up front and some lovely new neoprene overreach boots, though I'm unsure if I like them yet....I have some no turn ballistic ones too, bt they just look odd and have only been out of the case to be tried on.....

I use brushing boots front and back and over reach boots front only for all schooling, lunging, hacking (off road only) and turnout. I'm just sorting out some hind stable boots too!

My horse doesn't brush or over reach normally, but occasionally he has caught himself when competing without any boots on so I prefer to be safe than sorry!

bog standard Woof Wear/Westropp brushing boots all round for schooling and hacking, tendon and fetlocks for jumping and leather xc boots for xc...

have bandages too that I use if I have time to put them on for schooling in....

my two do both brush behind and my gelding has injured both front legs several times (twice nearly fataly) so I am quite paranoid about protection...

I agree with Faerie. Horses are suited and booted just to walk down the road. I used to ride a little unshod horse, was only allowed to hack it gently around fields, but it wore more boots than I think Imelda Marcos owned

why do you boot up for turnout?

all of mine have perfectly clean legs, one of my 26 yearols has never had a boot on him, he's XC's for PC teams, done alot of dressage, lots of showing, ODE's, Ponyclub games, hes even been used for horseball and had a go at polo.
If you constantly boot up a horse, IMHO then you never give the legs (ie the tendons and muscles) time and chance to harden up properly.

Well then you are very lucky.

I boot when turned out now because he came in, during the summer, unbooted, with a splint which is STILL grumbling away.

I'd rather boot up now than take the risk of him getting another.

I only wear tendon and fetlock boots for jumping, brushing boots for lessons and XC boots for XC and sponsored rides. I never wear boots for schooling/ lungeing as my horse gets lumps and sores easily from them even when they are clean

Bandages over eskadron climatex pads all round, and overreach boots for schooling. Woof boots all round for hacking. Breathable turnout boots on fronts only and rubber overreach boots for turnout.

Horse has had surgery on a front leg and I can't risk him hitting it again.

Basic woof brushing all round on all 3 for hacking/flatwork. Older mare only has those so the odd occasion she jumps, she keeps them on.
OH's mare and my lad then swap front oned for open fronted tendons when SJ, my lad also has a set of brown tendon/fetlock boots for comps.
I have clarendons all round for J for XC/sponsored rides, OH's mare has clarendons behind, Sports Medicene in front for XC/sponsored rides.
I'm paranoid I know, but my boy did get caught in a barbed wire fnece on a sponsored ride - his clarendon boot was ripped to shreds, but leg underneath was fine. Dread to think what state his leg would have been in without the boot....
