I boot S all round with boots I had specifically made for her for hutning - otherwise I find we end up with all sorts of scraps and lumps! I've never had teh inside of mine get muddy...but than they fit her exactly!

To OP - I boot for; hacking - cheapo neoprene brushers on hinds only , hunting - cutom leather brushers all round, jumping - open fronted shell tendon boots in front and SMB behind.

I bandage for; flat work and hacking the day after a hunt.

Flatwork - At least fronts but all 4 brushing boots if the ground it wet / slippy.

Hacking (not that I do much at all!) - Usually all 4 boots because I have had a horse go through a fence ripping his boot to shreds, Id rather that than his leg!!

XC - Boot all round with N.E.W boots and over-reach.

Jumping - Always tendon and fetlock boots.

I also obviously boot for travelling horses. But for long distances then I tend to bandage over pads.
