My old favourite MH boots and chaps for everyday have seen better days, as people keep noting, so for christmas my parents have asked if i would like a new set. YES PLEASE

So please all tell me your good and bads about different boots and chaps, or longboots. I've alwyas had boots and chaps for everyday wear but will consider long boots (as long as they aren't too restricting).

I am looking for a set for everyday wear only, not to compete in as i have a lovely pair for that will be used for hacking, schooling, clinics etc. Would like them to look smart and to last a long time. All suggesstions welcome

I love the Ariat boots and the Ariat Close Contact chaps.

They look really smart and last me a long time though I am careful not to get the boots too wet if I can help it by changing out of them once I'm off the horse.

I usually get mine off e-bay as they are much cheaper but I know eactly what size I need.

I have a strange mix for hacking - some very old dublin boots and some rather nice Ariat chaps that got down graded from competition wear! But both are very comfy! For competing I now have some Konigs!
These are them!

As I only do dressage, they are dream boots! My trainer has two pairs(ones for everyday too!) and trust me I would if I could afford it!(It took lots of BD winnings and birthday money to pay for mine! As for everyday - would sure recommend Ariat chaps!

I love my Ariat Grasmeres, so everything in them, however have a nearly new top of the range pair of ariat short boots that need a new home... live in my Garsmeres instead!!!

what size?

Chloe_GHE, whats the name of the MH long boots, i like the look of those. They don't look too bulky for long boots, do you find them ok for schooling jumping in?

They are these the Richmond High Rider

but mine are not laced at the front, might be an old style. I jump, school, hack and have done roads and tracks in these and they are fab took about 4 wears to get them worn in and only gave me one small blister which I think is pretty good going for new long boots, lovely soft leather, and a nice high profile as my absolute bug bear is too short long boots! Deffo worth adding to your list to try on, I love mine

ETS sorry wrong link here they are and here's my review! Mine have the MH metal insignia on the outside at the top like the ones in the link above, but for some reson the pic shows a plain pair

if they are 6.5 they will fit, 6 will be too small, can you let me know please

you can get many diffrent brands of long boots or boots and chaps in alot of diffrent colours so there is somthing for everybody, I use Konigs long boots fur competition and Cavello's for everydy use I find theses boots to be of the highest qualtiy and are great in riding in a comp or everyday use, However they are both expensive konigs are a small furtune and Cavello's come in a close second and they do take a bit of time to wear in but when they do they feel like heaven

p.s i would try Ebay for boots as you can get some cheap deals on brand new boots.
