I seem to destroy boots. In April last year I bought a pair of Woof Wear Spectrum boots. Yup cheap, but would have expected them to last more than 5 months. Now I have a pair of Toggi Canyons. I bought them in October and the sole is coming off and the seam at the back has split and leaks. I only wear them for a couple of hours a day during the week, and then for about 4-6 hours at the weekend.

Can anyone recommend long work boots that can be ridden in and will last for more than a few months? Oh, and fit someone who isn't anorexic!

I am feeling demoralised over chaps /gaiters. I was pulled up a couple of weeks ago for wearing suede chaps at a competition, as the chaps 'need to be the same material as the boots'. Can I find any that fit? Anything that fits the calf is too long. Anything that is the correct height won't go around the calf. It is not even as though I am over weight! All that traisping through mud for the last 4 months has put loads of muscle on the calf.

are you looking for boots to wear around the yard and compete in, because they rarely go hand in hand,
i work all day every day and for that i wear Ariat (the ones with the crossing laces on the side) i've had them for a year and they are still water tight, and they allow my leg to relax while riding and dont feel bulky, but certainly you wouldnt be able to compete in them,
and for competition i wear Tredstep de niro, and these wouldnt even last a month doing yard work.
I think with boots i've generally found that having two pairs is best, and as my grandma always says cheap is expensive, so what i've done is splashed out and broken the bank on two pairs of boots that i know will last, and both have different leg fittings.

I have a pair of HKM country boots that I wear round the yard and to ride in and they have been, to my surprise amazing! Not a leak warm and coped with mud ect! I also have really wide feet and HUGE calfs lol! I normally struggle but these have fit like a glove from day one.

Thank you. It is the every day boots I have issues with. I will look into the Ariat and HKM boots.

I went to RB Equestrian today and I have managed to find a pair of gaiters that fit from the English Gaiter Company. 14.5" calves and 15" height...perfect... and they look stunning with my joddy boots.

I am not ashamed to say that I have 2 pairs of yard riding boots, 1 pair of country boots, 1 pair of wellies & 1 pair of comp boots

I have collected them over time but that way I am never caught short !

I am very strict though don't muck out in yard boots as pee rots the stitching ! I use my wellies ... change into my boots to ride & then change back
I have learnt the hard way !!
