Boots for extra wide calves!!

Hi all,

I'm in search of a new pair of boots (ideally suitable for yard and riding). I previously had Ariat Windermere which lasted very well! However, they gave up about 6 months ago and the extra lockdown pounds I have gained means my calves no longer fit into a new pair of them! - think my previous pair had stretched with my legs haha. I've been using Ariat Telluride for the last 6 months, which are so comfy, but coming into winter I think I need to go back to long boots!

My calves are 19" (48.2cm) wide, but I also have short legs and only a UK 5 shoe size. I'm struggling to find any that fit this criteria. Help please!

Have you tried the Wide Boot Company on Facebook? Fuller Fillies also do wider calf boots. Their short gaiters were a weirdly good fit on me, despite having very long legs.

Ariat Grasmere comes in a full-calf size and since you draw up the laces to fit, there’s masses of room in them.

Tuffa boots do a wide fit and fit my short legs too!

I also have freakishly large calves. After much deliberation and comparison I recently bought a pair of Bareback Quebec boots, so far so good. They are extremely comfortable and waterproof, I wear them all day most days, but they are only mid-calf length.

Tredstep dontatello were the only ones I could get to fit! They did do a really really wide fit which I found hard to get hold of beginning of this years so maybe have been discontinued

(they are now too big as I’ve lost weight!)
