I’ve just bought the most beautiful 15.1 hogged irish cob who I adore 🥰

But I’m having an issue with brushing boots.

I got him medium wide and they slid down.

Can anyone recommend a boot (he’s got a lot of bone) or would you just not wear boots? I’m just a tad worried of him knocking his legs when doing jumps on fun rides etc.

Any help be gratefully accepted ☺️☺️

From what I can see of his front legs he’s got more of a middleweight amount of bone than heavyweight 🙂.

So if you want to boot him ordinary boots rather than the XW ones should be fine, but unless he bashes himself boots are more hassle than they’re worth.

Yes I may get him just a pair of medium ones just for XC and stuff like that. I won’t bother for hunting as I’d be worried they would slip

Evented to 90 with charlie, we had to stud him, and I tried all sorts of boots but they all slipped down. In the end I gave up, studded outsides only and he was great

Not at all, if he ever caught a pole or fence it was a hoof not a leg he's the dude in my pic on here and a very chunky 15hh cob
