All replies would be grateful here, its for uni!!

Ok if you are going x-country, which would be your choice of leg protection boots or bandages

If bandages, why so and why not boots?

If boots, why so and why not bandages, and also, what type of boots would you use and why?

Thank you very much, feel free to add anything else!!

Boots: less hassle, easy to remove quickly when you have finished (important imo) and come with built in tendon protection etc. Less dangerous if they fall off whilst you are going round.

Bandages can exert (imo) uneven pressure on a horses legs/tendons if they are not put on properly. I would rather know that the boots are fine, instead of worrying that I am going to ruin the horses tendon by having an uneven pressure.

I wear prolites on the front, and will buy a pair of prolites to replace my cheap hind boots, as soon as I can afford to!

Boots, every time. Better protection, much easier to put on & off. Altogether far less hassle. Moderately fool proof. So many things can go wrong with bandages, as previously mentioned & can be very dangerous if they come undone.

I have used both in the past and had no problems with either.

Boots are quicker and easier to use than bandages, but you need to ensure the fit is correct so you dont loose them and that they dont rub.

Bandages are also good, but the issues with using these have been mentioned in other replies.

Aslo - there are so many types of boot out there for XC that you are spoilt for choice.
