W can sometimes be a little lazy/tappy behind, now she is old and wise!

Anyone had experience of these boots.

Do you use weighted or ones like the new extender boots?

What makes are ther?

Any you would recommend?

Am not really tempted by the idea of weighted boots esp as not all rules allow them/you have to be careful of the weight, but would give it a go if they were very effective.

Anyone have a pair in cob size that need a new home? Or know where I can get some secondhand.

Devoucoux do a long fetlock boot that they call their magic boot, try and get them second hand if you can as ive just cancelled my order with them as their service is extra poor at the mo !

umm, slightly weighted, can't remember the make though, they're leather and go up the back of the cannon bone to about 1/2 way. will check make when i go out to tackroom again! weight can be removed, they're in a smooth pocket. i've heard that doing them up tight can be as useful as having weights in them tbh.

Just had a look on the Devoucoux site and can't find magic boots?

Might be worth a go, it's difficult to know what to do for the best really. I have heard rumour that various disciplines will ban weighted boots, but can't see how it could be enforced as boots very so much in weight anyway, especially if they then become wet and muddy.

I use the extenders on Dougal and he has definitely improved lots, but I think that may be down to the gridwork and schooling! I kp them on though incase they do make a difference!!

My instructor put them on my old horse once and they made a hugh difference! I do not know how much the weighed though so not sure if legal.

Worth a try

I use the extenders on Tara- she had about 20 clears in a row showjumping with them, and then we took them off and she had 2 down

sorry to revive an old thread...

but would anyone have a 2nd hand pair of either of these they are looking to sell? (don't mind the condition)? My event season last year was slightly spoiled with high sj faults and pre season training is looking similar (12 faults yesterday) so keen to try one or the other, but hoping to do it a but cheaper that the £70 prince tag on both of these. Any other suggestions / ideas welcome as well
