I’m sure this isn’t the first post on this…but my trusty Grasmeres have officially died after 10 years. Debating replacing them or getting something different - tall and slim so Ariat tends to be the best fit!

so a decade later - are Grasmeres still as good? This is just for hacking and being on the yard. Looking at the Coniston too but not sure how they compare. Or any other suggestions..!

Are they ok in summer or too warm?

sorry i also can’t comment on this, i don’t even bother with boots in summer i just go for the pair of trainers that look like they’ll show the least dirt🙈

my guess would be that they’d be too warm though, as much as i love them if i wanted a pair for year round i probably wouldn’t have forked out that much money! i think the regular coniston’s could be a good shout though, i did try those on and i don’t recall them being quite as toasty

I never much liked grasmeres or conistons, they were too short. I wear old bromonts all the time in winter.

i envy you, normally boots are too long for me!😂 i tried on some of the wythburns and they were near enough normal length on me lol

for reference OP, im 5”2 and the coniston pro’s definitely fit but they would probably be better if i was a few inches taller lmao

haha! I’m 5’10 and Grasmeres are on the short side. My schooling boots are Bromonts and they’re longer but too long for short stirrup hacking 🤔

I'd have said Cinston's but my zip is now struggling to stay up which is annoying so I'm probably going to replace with Grasmeres.

I find Coniston's way too hot for warm weather.

I only buy Mountain horse boots now they tend to come up long I find, I've got the Aurora, Venice and short classic boots I've also got a pair of country boots.

I just prefer them to Ariats I find they last longer and look better.
