Thank you all for your vibes. He is still hanging in there. His kidneys are responding though not as well as hoped. At the moment he is in no pain and is very comfortable....he also has the whole vet hospital wrapped around his little paw they adore him. He currentl has about a 30% chance of survival and so long as he in in no pain we will keep trying. If he gets to a stage where he is uncomfortable then I will let him go. Vet has said that he will update us in the morn unless there is bad news before then so here's hoping we don't get a call before then

Slight improvement today! Not out of the woods yet but is heading in the right direction. He ate a bit today and is drinking. Still on 24hr iv hydration and the big danger is going to be seeing will his kidneys function when he comes off the IV. I went to visit him today and he was full of cuddles and much much brighter. He even ate four markies treats for me

We have great news....he is eating the vets out of house and home, went for a walk this morning and ran the vet's own healthy spangle into the ground and is coming off his drip full time today! Assuming all stays well he may be allowed home tomorrow!!

Yay, thats great news, heres hoping hes the next AAD miracle dog! Will keep all my fingers toes and everything else crossed for you today. Come on Boots, your mum wants you home tomorrow! x

Thanks guys...the vet said it really is a miracle and that they fully expected him not to make it. When he was admitted one of the enzymes should have been at about 54....in Boots it was 286! All from a bloody rat bite!

When hes home I think we should start a sticky thread of these miracle doggies, to give other people hope when their dogs are poorly and just because its nice to have a collection of their stories with happy endings.

I fully agree! Even though Milo had a different illness I kept reading your posts about him to give me hope!
