I've seen some boots I am tempted to buy (Not for me though, lol and for rider not for horse). Only issue with them is that they have an inside zip. The saddle they will be used with has a full sheepskin cover so not so worried about the saddle being scratched by the zip, but what about pressure on the inside of the leg from where the zip sit next to the saddle, anyone ever had issues with this?

It will probably be uncomfortable and the zip will break over time, it's the reason why riding boots have zips at the back or round the side.

Why don't you just buy some pull on boots or some meant for riding?

Many stiff dressage boots have a zip on the front/slightly to the inside. sort of down the inside of your shin bone. This doesn't come in contact with the saddle IME, I have several pairs and prefer them to back-zip boots. If the zip is on the side of your calf that's a bit different though.

The person who I am looking at them to buy them for already has some county style pull on boots designed for riding, which they wore twice but due to an ankle injury can no longer get their foot around the ankle bend into the boot. I fell across these country boots with the inside zip, they look lovely and a very very good price, which is the reason I am considering them, otherwise I wouldn't usually consider inside zip boots.

I'm really wanting someone to say they have inside zip boots and ride with them fine so I can tell myself it's ok to buy them, lol. :D ;)
I'm tempted with them anyway, I'm sure if they don't find them comfortable to ride in they can wear them elsewhere.

If they are literally on the side I think it will end up being a problem. Aside from not being very comfortable, it's likely that the zip itself will get either damaged or full of grime.

I wouldn't ride with an inside zip, I wouldn't ride in country boots either - most are not designed for riding IMO.

You need something close fitting and supportive. Sorry about the add.. i have no idea where it has come from or how to get rid???

I wouldn't ride in boots with a zip on the inside or country boots but that's personal choice everyone is different, but if I had to choose either one I would choose a country boot rather than a boot with a zip on the inside.

I broke my ankle last November and now have a plate in it, I struggled with foot wear for a long time, and some of my boots that I had worn previously were so uncomfortable, I only ride in proper riding boots and with a compromised ankle I can't think of anything worse than riding in anything else, country boots or any thing similar will not give you the support and comfort a proper riding boot will, I would recommend your friend go and try some on and see what works.
