So I've been having a mass clearout and thinking about buying some more riding boots. As I have only been happing hacking for the past couple of years, I've been using mucker boots and chaps for riding. The muckers are getting rather worn so I'm starting to think about some jodphur boots for riding, and wearing yard boots for general mucky jobs. However I have also just discovered that my long boots no longer fit me (haven't competed for ages!). I was just wondering what the deal is with boots and competitions nowadays, should I decide to participate in a few this summer (ie, small unaffiliated showjumping and hunter trials/cross country).

Trying to decide what style boots to purchase without breaking the bank!

I bought a pair of jodphur boots off Equestrian Clearance to go with my new gaiters, the boots were only £15.99 and are really nice

Thanks, they look really nice! There are some bargains out there! Think I will get short boots for now, and long ones as and when...
