Borde Hill times are up for this weekend. And the weather is looking a tad warm :( Neither me or my horse enjoy the heat so not too enamoured by the forecast. Fortunately not going XC till 5.12pm on Sunday evening so hoping it wont be too roasting by then. First BE100 of the year so could have done without the heatwave! I know we shouldn't moan after the monsoons but am worrying about ground being too hard now. Talk about the sublime to the ridiculous!

Anyone else going?

I'am going.....
Just hoping it get a bit cooler, My times are all around the hottest part of the day on Saturday ...hmmm
Think ground will be fine....
I'am walking the course tomorrow as don't want to rush round on sat morning all hot and bothered ......

Good luck to everyone going... :):):)

Same as you Star- first BE100 of the season (also since our tendon injury), not done a BE100 for nearly 2 years and we only did one pre injury so big day for us!

Im dressageing at nearly midday then sj and xc between 3 and 4 so really hoping its a bit cooler as same as OP, we're not so good in the heat!

good luck! which section are you in? I've only done 2 BE100's and that was last yr so little bit nervous! I remember thinking the 90 was tough there last yr so sort of dreading the 100! Got to man up and get on with it though - pony is finding 90 too easy.

No.662, section N.

Big courses there aren't they. We've done the 90 three times though as our rc areas used to be there until this year so didn't want to do it again, main reason for doing the 100!

Im a bit scared though!

Good luck to you too :-)

i did the 90 there twice last yr. Was 2nd in the BE and 1st in the unaff. Dont think it was right to do the 90 again although if I hadn't had to work Sat I might have thought about it. Having nightmares about angled hedges! Thought the 90 was bad enough!

At least we'll jump the same first hedge as the 90. Its the hedge before that that's giving me nightmares, its huge!

Think there's a new combo of walls too at 4/5

i think i may have blanked any other hedges from my mind! I'm not walking it till Sun lunchtime so no time for too many nightmares!

Hey

I am in 90 on Sat..X Country at 2.09 so going to be hot hot!

Eek only my second BE90 as everything else been cancelled or been ballot...last one was Munstead in March which was nice and easy...think I might get a shock.

What's the 90 like...don't mind big fences as horse is 17.3 and can jump anything...but technical or jumps down hill are my problem as he buggers off...heard there are some hills..am I going to be terrified?!

there weren't any jumps downhill alst yr. things up to height and width. 2 full up 1m10 brushes on an angle and an awkward one/two stride distance between them caused the carnage last year. nothing much else in the way of technical. no corner. ditch that isn't really a ditch.

Hi, I am there Sat. XC at 13.17 so going to be a bit warm I think:(. Haven't been anywhere since Munstead at the end of March so feeling a bit under-prepared:(
Good luck to everyone going:)

I'll be walking the course about lunchtime too so will hopefully see a few people.

Going XC at 15.46, coloured mare and I'll be wearing bright orange and black so fairly easy to spot!

Meeee! I'm there in the open Novice on Sunday - 10.46, 12.06, 12.47 hot hot hot!!

I'm going to walk the course tomorrow morning so let me know if anyone wants to join me :D

I should be walking the course as you go round- are your XC colours the same as in your sig? Grey pony?

I'll look out for you! :)

I will probably see you all there at some point. I am competing on Saturday in the 90, got early times 9.15, 10.17 and 11.05, then i'm dressage writing all day on Sunday. Good luck to everyone going!

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!! :D:cool::):D

Good luck you guys. I will be there as a spectator tomorrow or Sunday. My dad lives 5mins down road so I park and walk across. The ground looked like it had a good layer of grass on it last weekend so hopefully a little softer under foot.

I think the jumps are HUGE compared with when I used to go over as a teenager. I saw a nasty accident which stopped the proceeds last year and there was a problem with the water so they took that out half way through the day. The good news is, they will be on top of it this year and will have done extra checks in the water I am sure.

I think you are all very brave and I am so jealous - don't think I will get to that level now!

Anyone walked the course yet- what's the ground like? Friends just walked pulborough for their unaffiliated ode this weekend and says its hard so Im worrying now.

Im sure bh will spike if its hard though...?

To answer my own question i thought id just text the organiser to ask her (she's a friend) and the response i got was 'perfect' so I'll stop worrying now :-)

Just walked the course! New fences at 4 and 5 - which looked huge even with my BSJA eye on. There is a narrow coal wagon at 4 and a combination of 2 boxes - the first one is narrow, second one normal width. Water has had a re-vamp - interesting new novice water!

Ground is hard - IMO its not perfect! However there is a fantastic thick grass cover.

my pesky horse has come in this evening having had a fight with the electric fencing. tape burns down the front of his right hind, swollen tendon sheath right hind and a cut into the heel of his left fore plus a couple of scrapes on his face for good measure. Did he get wind of the first BE100 thing or maybe it was the thought of a pro tog following us around all day that got him planning trouble. Grrrrrr. Good thing is that he is sound so looks like it's 36hrs of cold hosing and crossed fingers to see if we make it or not. Couldn't have picked a worse time! No more reports about big fences either please - they cant be bigger than 1m so cant be too bad!
