Borde Hill balloting and PAVO balloting

Is anybody entering or entered Borde Hill?

Do you think they will ballot the Intro? I think they balloted no 2 last year but no 1 was cancelled due to wet ground!! Can you believe it!! The ground will be positively hard this year im sure!

I only have one special sticker left for Spider and I used Mays sticker for Mattingley! In a dilema of what to do! Was thinking I should save the Special though for a PAVO 5 yr old qualifier, or do they not ballot as much as normal classes??!!

I will be entering, I thought I was going to have the same ballot diliema as you! but i had to put a super on mattingley otherwise i had no chance of getting in! so i have my May ballot available.
Whats Borde Hill like? im sure ive been there (not riding though ) but i cant remember for the life of me what its like, looked at the pics on EWW the xc looks quite straight forward.

Why did you have no chance of getting in Mattingley?

I have put Mays stickers on my entries for Mattingley and that should be fine, I hope!!

Borde Hill is lovely - PN and esp the Novice XC is very up to height but the Intro is tiny!!

SJing is always on a slight hill which isnt great but the XC course def makes up for that!
 
Because I left it to the ballot day to get my entries in ! Had to take it by hand to tweseldown and actually give it to Ann Allen on friday, her husband said that I probably wouldnt get in without a special, but im sure you'll be fine if you were more organised than me and got it in early ! !!
Oh joy show juping on a slight hill, guarenteed to have a upright with a down hill approach ! - theres my 4 faults !

Bandit was around at the ballot.
They are even balloting with stickers on - not super stickers tho.
Doesnt leave me with a lot of hope now, wish they would hurry up with the ballot so i can enter somewhere else tbh.
 
Oh right.

I made a boo boo and put my May sticker on mattingley and not my super! And my super on borde Hill! I emailed Ann and asked her if she could swap them as I made a mistake!! We shall see if I get in

Well we lost two didnt we, and I thought things would start to settle down a bit now and even out.

But obviously not but then Mattingley always ballot quite heavily
 
We lost Stilemans, Tweseldown and Bath and West.

Mattingley is a favorite and always ballot no matter what. They just too damn popular

Hi - yes I was present for the ballot of Mattingley and sorry to say, anyone without a Super will probably get balloted, unless you said day before dressage or that you always helped out?!!!

Gutted for you guys, but it's because all the events at the start were cancelled so entries are much higher for events at this time!

Hope you are in, but it teh balloting was rather ruthless!!

What else will you enter?

I have Aston B4 Mattingley then Borde Hill so nothing else I can enter at the same time as Mattingley, oh well.

Was so nice entering Aston and putting no sticker!!

Bandit - I know you have to keep the inside info to yourself, but are they running a day before dressage section for the intro?

I had a ballot sticker (but not a special) and said I could do day before dressage, so am hoping that I will get in - fingers crossed!!!
 
MM next week, Mattingley but may enter Wilts College if nec. Then Great Tew pavo class prob BCA after that then holiday for him with the odd BYEH class too.
 
Im going to do Stratford Hills, Little Mattingley and Smiths Lawn PAVO 5yr old classes I think.

And a BYEH at Eridge I think. She will have a quiet August I think.

Ive just withdrawn Mac but im thinking I might be getting a new one by Thursday so could take it to do the dressage and Sjing if I can get it registerred on the phone on Friday!!!

Bit far for us, plus we havent actually run at an intro yet.

Im hoping Ann will remember that i help a lot and not ballot me, plus feel sorry for me after having to swap horses at Tweseldown lol she also knows its my fav event lol

If we get balloted then we shall wait till Little Mattingley and try our luck there for the Pavo instead.

Are you allowed to take horses who arent competing, as if I dont get this horse in on Sunday to just dressage and SJ.

Could be worth taking it anyway just to go in the warm ups and do a bit, will save me having to ride it when I get back too!!

I would ask the secretary/organiser. Should horse cause a problem (not saying it would) but i know if i got kicked by a horse that wasnt being competed i would be quite miffed as would you be.
Think its only polite but some wont agree.

Might as well though if it is ok, saves riding when your back and tired!! And would get it used to the atmosphere at a BE event! As it has only done a bit of SJing and is a 5yr old
 
I am stabling for Borde Hill so can do day before dressage - not using a ballot sticker. Fingers crossed I get in!
 
I got thrown off West Wilts for riding a horse that wasn't entered, and I was competing on others so be bloody carful if you do. Might find event's insurance wasn't valid etc if your horse caused any damage.

The PAVOs you're doing are the ones I did on W last year. Can't remember if I put stickers on, but probably did as he only ran 5 times last year. They will try not to ballot PAVO, but it's only going to get more popular, and this year I think we will see events having to put on more than one age section.
