How up to height is the SJ and the XC? What does the XC consist of? Do they like to scare horsies with SJ fillers? Would you recommend it as a first run for both horse and rider?

I have pics (pm me your email address if you want them) or are you a member of eventingworldwide? They have the Intro from this Spring and last Autumn which are virtually identical. I think its a nice Intro. The SJ is small although the ring can be influential (ground etc). The XC is lovely with a bit of everything. Can send you a link to SJ from Spring if you want to see jumps!
It was my first BE run but my horse is more experienced.
The SJ was under height so if you are jumping BSJA BN or equivilent then you will be fine. The ground does slope away but it wasn't a huge problem and it was pretty wet there this spring. Some of the XC fences are small and the water is a simple in and out, the fences are solid but mainly inviting, a bit of everything there really and the course jumps really well.
My horse didn't like the dressage phase, we were in the arena next to the trees and she was adamant there was something in there that was going to kill her. Most of the arena's are set out well although perhaps a little too close to the jumping and jumping warm-up for my liking.
as ss mentions the dressage in in between the sj and the xc, bit distracting.
Its very wet there, and if this weather carries on I doubt it will run, cancelled one day there at the spring event I think.
The sj and xc are both quite simple, it is a nice first event, however if I were you id look at doing pulborough - your guildford way arent you?
Pulborough is at coombelands which is open for schooling i think.
