Does anyone know how long it takes to walk the XC course for BE90 normally and how far it is from the lorry park as I am competing for the first time on sunday and need to work out timings. Also any reviews of the SJ or XC would be great thanks.

I don't know for sure but I always allow an hour to walk the course and grab number on the way back and "touch wood" it's never taken longer yet.

Good luck

XC is about 5 minutes by foot from lorry park (SJ is right next to it and dressage is a trek!)

Takes around 25 mins to walk course plus time to get there and back.

Nice course - up to height but rides well.

Thanks Guys I usually allow an hour but got caught out once so like to check and no friends competed there! Fingers crossed all goes well. Dont mind up to height XC SJ is my weakness

Hiya - I am there sunday too! An hour should be plenty. I always allow an hour and then find myself with some spare time :) I will be dressaging at 11:09, so probably course walking at 9.15 ish.

Very best of luck - and allow a good 5 mins to get to dressage warm up as it isn't right next to lorries :D

SJ there always causes a few problems as on a slope but it's not overly big. XC always causes problems but not sure why as lovely course. Dressage is miles from the car park. Good luck!

Probably one of my favourite events. I agree with what Star has said above, people always say XC is one of the stiffer ones, but i find it quite nice. Up to height mostly but nothing too technical apart from a couple of interesting stride patterns. SJ usually not too big, but is on a slope, and they do use this. Dressage is a way away and in the opposite direction to everything else, although the warm up does run next to the XC course. Arenas are also on a slight slope.

I stupidly missed the entries this year and i'm gutted because i really enjoy it. Have fun!

Week not enjoying reading thee comments!

Doing the novice there on monday. Its our fist one since it went horribly wrong last year and i picked it as saw couse photos and felt confident, then asked on here and people said it was a nice one!

I agree with star and fabscd's comments about borde hill. I did it as a first BE90on two horses and thought it was a nice course. Up to height but not overly technical. There was odd striding on the brushes under the trees if I remember correctly and maybe another combination (can't remember exactly as was in 2010/11). Might have changed since that anyway. However i do remember thinking afterwards that it rode really well.

Ahrena - I did it as my first novice last year. It's one of my favourite events and I think the course rides really well. I'm there on Monday for the novice too.

That makes me feel better haha!

When are you on? I'm fairly late, dressage at 2.18 I think. My horse only has 1 eye so very distinct, come over and say hi if you see me, I may be a quaking bundle of nerves though LOL!

Just walked the Xc- lots of changes! There are some course pictures on the south east Eventers league Facebook page!

Blimey, just seen the SEEL photos, they have changed it! Even more disappointed to not be going now!! Hope everyone does well this weekend :)

Wow quite alot of changes.

Ahrena - I saw you sj but by the time I got round to the in/out you had disappeared back to the lorries. Well done though and fab dressage!
