Border Collie Puzzles?

Hello people!

I have a lovely lively and intelligent border collie, - very quick witted and very active as you would expect from this breed. I am always on the lookout for new games to teach her and wonder if any of you can recommend "puzzles" you use to entertain your dogs, particularly things that can easily be done indoors in the evenings while we relax and watch TV as she just doesn't like sitting still much at all. At the moment her favourite game is to have a toy tied up in an old towel, which she then has to work out how to untie to get the toy out, but she's now getting way too quick at this so i need some new ideas. We do hiding biscuits or toys round the room for her to find and are constantly flicking her favourite toy about for her to fetch back (she will do this for hours!). Any ideas?

Ooh, us too! Nothing beats a good collie

Our collie's favourite thing is a carrot / chew, wrapped in newspaper, tightly wedged inside a loo roll / kitchen roll tube and then wedged inside a box (or even two boxes).

Keeps her good and busy! The bits can be picked up easily afterwards, once she's done shredding - I save all our cereal boxes, boxes from crackers etc for her

The only downside, of course, is that she then brings you all the shredded pieces, in the vain hope you'll throw them for her...

I will give that one a try...and yes I expect I will get the shreds bought over to be thrown.

When we are on the yard she enjoys fetching a ball and placing it in a bucket - this game always goes down well with small children, who seem very happy to sit next to the bucket and keep throwing it for her for ages. (Trouble is that she will often deposit the filthy muddy ball in someones bucket of clean water in the hope that they will also throw it for her!) So perhaps i could train her to drop the shreds in a bucket and clean up after herself too!
