Posted for a friend.

A friend has just gone through a messy seperation, and has ended up moving into a small house with her mother and 2 kids. She works full times, so can't keep her collie. She's very upset about it but knows she can't keep him unfortunately, so does anyone know any collie rescues around that area?

Thanks as always.

Donna from Morgans is very good and may be able to arrange transport if needed, the dogs are also fostered rather than kennelled most of the time so there may be foster homes near them already. Alternatively try Border Collie Rescue, who are based in Yorkshire - http://www.bordercollierescue.org/ - but wherever they try be prepared for it to take time and it won't be easy - rescues are struggling so much right now. Most of all tell them to be honest but don't try and blackmail the rescue into taking the dog, which many people try and do - if there is space then they will take the dog, if there isn't then they will just go away feeling that they have let another dog down which is not their fault.

It's still worth a call to Donna at Morgan's, her and her partner do agility & have a lot of contacts who are widespread. I'm only guessing but if she has the space she might be at an agility show that way soon or possibly have somebody over there who could get the dog up to Cumbria or foster until Donna could get there. I know a fair few she's homed & she's an angel.

Dollyanna - just seen your post, great minds eh?
